Target Point
A target point is a physical marker (often a checkerboard or sphere target) placed on site and measured by both the total station and the laser scanner, used to tie the two datasets together.
Target points are how we bridge the Total Station control network and the FARO point cloud during registration — placed so each scan setup can see enough targets to register cleanly against the network.
