Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning)

3D laser scanning is a survey method that uses a laser rangefinder to measure millions of points on a surface per second, building a point cloud of the scanned space.

We use FARO Focus Premium and FARO Focus S150 scanners, capturing up to roughly 2,000,000 points per second at ranges up to 150 m. Every scan is registered to a Leica Total Station control network rather than relying on scan-to-scan alignment alone.

Frequently asked

Do I need to understand Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) myself, or is that your job?
That's on our side — Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) is part of the standard capture methodology built into every project; this entry exists so you can follow a technical conversation, not so you have to run the process yourself.
Does Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) change how a project is priced?
No — Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) is a standard part of the capture workflow included in every quote, not a separate paid add-on.
Is Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) specific to your workflow, or standard across the industry?
Standard across the laser-scanning and surveying industry — we apply Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) the same way any competent provider would, not as a house-specific method.
How would I notice if Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) wasn't done properly on a project?
It shows up downstream, in a drawing or model that doesn't match reality on-site — which is exactly why it's built into every project rather than treated as optional.
Can I ask more about how Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) applies to my specific project?
Yes — send a question through the Contact page; a specific question about Laser Scanning (3D Laser Scanning) on your project is a normal thing to bring to a scoping call.
