Control Network / Control Point
A control network is a set of precisely surveyed reference points across a site that every other measurement — including a laser scan — is tied back to.
A Leica Total Station establishes this network before FARO scanning begins on every Intera Survey project. It's the reason the final point cloud is geo-referenced and dimensionally trustworthy, not just internally consistent.
